About
Hi! My name is Ruben Badaró, a Portuguese software engineer currently living and working in Dublin, Ireland.
I’m currently a Senior Software Engineer at ChangingWorlds (recently acquired by Amdocs) developing personalization products to Tier 1 mobile operators. It’s an exciting work with fun challenges and great people.
I’m also one of the leaders of the Portuguese Java User Group (PT.JUG) along with Hugo Palma and Fernando Fernandez (Portuguese). I’m far from Portugal but surprisingly that doesn’t stop me from being active participating in the group’s discussions, organizing, attending and presenting the meetings.
I’m also involved with Hugo in Agilista, an open-source plugin for Jira to facilitate a more agile approach. The google code page of the project here but be aware that it’s a bit in its early stages.
I also write a java oriented blog in Portuguese called Zona J. It’s supposed to be a group blog but the other guys are a bunch of slackers and rarely if ever write anything. I might crosspost a few translated post from there if they are not too java related.
To know more about me you can check my LinkedIn profile. At some point I’ll update my CV and link it.
Outside work I like cinema, hanging out with friends and not having to move much while performing any of the previous activities.
